2. COVID: Health and Saftey.

May 14th, 2021. Cold Start production blog post written by Richard Townsley

Welcome back to COLD START: The Road to Production. Over the last week, our crew has been working around the clock so everything goes according to plan while on set. Given the COVID-19 pandemic, we are taking every step to ensure our set will be safely sanitized for actors and crew. Cold Start’s set will be run according to our COVID Saftey plan that has been developed by our COVID-19 Saftey Officers. Our two COVID-19 Safety Officers are level 2 Safe Set certified. While on set, they will be disinfecting touched surfaces, mandating the usage of masks and face shields, putting our “one-way overhead” into action. The one-way overhead is a blueprint of the location that lists the square footage of each room, the location of windows, A/C units, changing and green rooms, bathrooms, makeup, and craft services. Using this blueprint, the COVID-19 Officers will calculate how many crew members can be in a room at any given moment while maintaining a 6-foot distance from one another. We call the plan the “one-way overhead” due to the thoroughly planned entrances, exits, and hallways that will prevent crew members from passing one another as further insurance for everyone’s health and safety. We are lucky enough to have the release of the vaccine line up with our production’s timetable. Both cast and crew must complete the basic training and receive Safe Set certification, be fully vaccinated, and/or, present a negative COVID test within 7 days of our first day on set.
